Metano Energy, LP was formed in March 2003 to drill for and produce natural gas in proven basins in the onshore US. The drilling program is managed to build value through a mix of exploration and exploitation projects.

The Metano team consists of key members of the staff that built the E&P business for Tesoro Petroleum Corporation in the 1990's and grew the onshore US E&P business for EEX Corporation from 2000 to 2002.

Being located in San Antonio, the primary focus for exploration and development activities is the South Texas portion of the onshore Gulf Coast Basin. However, the professional staff has made significant discoveries all along the onshore Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana, the East Texas Basin, and the Val Verde Basin, and internationally, in Bolivia.

Metano both internally generates drilling opportunities and seeks projects offered by third parties. The level of working interest Metano prefers is dependent upon the risk profile of the project. Typical working interest ranges from 50% to 100%. Drilling objectives range in depth from 5000 to 18,000 feet.
